For easier rainsticks: Use tinfoil (about 2 ft.) and wad it into a
snake shape. Wrap the stake around a stick for a coil effect. Slide it
into a tube (about 1 ft. or longer). Cover one end and add rice. Then
cover with whatever decoration, paper mache, etc. We just made one
today and it worked great (we'll do it with first grade).
