Dear Mark,
In response to your question about how to design and equipment a
"modern" art room, you asked the question where to research or who might
have recommendation lists for equipment, layouts, safety, philosophy, or
general standards from which to start the process. Glad you asked; avoid
redesigning the "wheel".
Please contact: the National Art Education Association in Reston,
Virginia (sorry, phone# escapes me or check the NAEA website). Numerous
articles are avaliable and the NAEA has published a set of standards and
guidelines for equiping art rooms. Cost is minimal(10.00?). Strongly
recommend starting your search with NAEA and it you are not presently a
member, consider joining your state/national art organization.
Sincerely,
