I don't know who sent the original request, but one sure fire way to
prevent the ol' cracking while drying is to do as Patricia said and make
sure that the clay has the freedom to shrink without grabing anything.
Martha Stewart would love this...Try using parchment paper under the
clay. It will move with it, can be peeled off, or if worse comes to
worse, burns off. Tracing paper also works.
