Marcia,
My own definition of digital art would have to be something like: artwork that
has been created through some type of digital means, via the computer, digital
camera, etc. Some digital art may be printed by a printer, then manipulated
traditionally.
Since teaching a course called "art and the computer" (notice "art" is first in
the title) I have been trying to keep up with technology. I take courses at
local universities.
The University of the Arts here in Philly offers great weekend courses.
They, and Moore College of Art both offer computer graphics certificate
programs.
Hope it helps!
