I am a theatre professor at a midwestern university. My area is creative
drama/theatre education/theatre for youth. I specialize in interdisciplinary
and cross-curricular teaching that integrates the arts.

I am a member of this listserv because I find it's important that I stay
abreast of what is happening in the other arts areas. In my opinion
collaboration and integration is the key to your contiunation as a major
component in education. I think this was evidenced, in part, by the joint
national standards publication all four art forms collaborated on and which is
now available through Music Educators National Conference (MENC).

The resources for integrating drama and art and other disciplines are too
numerous to mention here. However, the American Alliance for Theatre and
Education, housed at ASU in Tempe, has wonderful resources and hosts a national
conference each August. This year it will be in Charlotte NC. They also have
a web page with a host of sample lessons, many of which integrate the arts as
you have requested.

I'm the president-elect of this organization. If you need more information
about its resources do not hesitate to contact me. Membership fees are
reasonable.
