<< Hi, in case any of you don't already know I am a student teacher
this semester and I have been giving and getting advice for the last week or
so. I had a high school art teacher who would use quotes and inspirational
pictures or songs in our advanced drawing and painting class. >>
I remember a high school science teacher (not even mine) who would post a
daily quote, and I used to pop my head into her room just to read it. So,
being my first year of teaching, I, too, put up a daily quote. I don't base
a lesson around it, but just put it up for general inspiration. I'm sending
you a list of all the quotes I've used so far, and I'll be happy to do the
same for anyone else - just e-mail me directly a request. I really enjoy
putting up the quotes, and see already kids that copy them down religiously.
Here are a few sites I've found, too, that have quotes:
http://quest.wcupa.edu/~scole/quotes/index.html
http://www.starlingtech.com/quotes/
http://www.fn.net/~degood/quotes.html
I have been thinking of basing a project around quotes, or possibly creating
a wall where kids can post their own quotes...
