Yes, The Master Teacher, should inform the student teacher if their
dress is not up to school standards. The teacher I was working with did
so when I was student teaching and it was a good thing because I never
would have realized it on my own. Giving information on one is perceived
by others is a gift but don't think that I wasn't a little resentful about
the comment at the time. On the other hand, consider that many college
students, are on a limited budget, and I know I certainly could not go out
and buy new clothes. So maybe it depends on how "dressy" you mean.
