A one who has to visit schools and supervise students I see that
there are really 2 dress codes. One with your peers but a very
different one if you are to promote professionalism. Teachers have a
bad enought time with their public image as it is. Teachers need to
set standards of personal pride in appearance, and be conscious of
their effect upon others. We all know what it is like to teach the
child who has not washed for a week and who's clothes are never
clean.
There are however clothes for each job. You can't teach ceramics in
a dark blue suit!
