I am an undergraduate student in Boston, Massachusetts studying Art
History and Elementary Education. I am currently writing a paper on
DBAE and also an education reform strategy promoted by the Center for
Arts in the Basic Curriculum. I have done a lot of research on DBAE, including
watching "Art Education in Action," the Getty Center's video
tele-conference from 1994. I am still a bit confused, however.
Is DBAE intended strictly for art teachers? Or do you hope that all
teachers will assume the four art disciplines in their classrooms? What
is your plan for whole-school DBAE implementors?
I would appreciate comments from anyone involved with DBAE. Thank you.
