Hi everyone can you offer thoughts, ideas, suggestions, ideas.
I am currently teaching a workshop at the Hong Kong Museum of Art it is basically an
introduction to DBAE idealy for local Hong Kong Chinese teachers. I have taught 2
classses so far we do some theory and then some practical exercises, I am basing most of
my work on the Curriculum Sampler (yellow)and the DBAE Handbook (buff). The classes are
3 hours long and I have 10 students very keen students ranging from people with 20 years
teaching experience to working toward certification. I am concerned that if I go on
simply introducing lessons following the DBAE method i.e. using the 4 disciplines things
could get repetative. These students enjoy talking and producing. So here are my
questions to you:
As teachers or soon to be teachers, what did you find the most valuable experience when
learning to impliment the DBAE method? Did you ever attend a workshop or lesson where
you were involved in an activity that realy helped you understanding of DBAE and
implimentation of DBAE in your classrom? What hands on experience as a teacher in a
learning environment was the most valuable for your understanding and implimentation of
DBAE? If you were to direct or introduce some one to the DBAE method what is the one
thing you might suggest or do or encourage them to do and how would you teach your
audience to do this? So how would you teach some one to use the DBAE method in their
lessons?
Sorry - rather a lot but may be you could have a stab at one or two. I and my students
would be very grateful.
Thank you
