DBAE originally focused on only the visual arts, but I read more literature
referring to broadening that concept to the performing arts as well.
Can anyone direct me to readings on this or, better yet, does anyone do
DBAE program in a public school which includes the visual AND
performing arts?

To respond to the above inquiry, an excellent resource for
discipline-based materials and information in the performing arts is the
Southeast Center for Education in the Arts (SCEA) in Chattanooga. They
have conducted theory development as well as program development in
discipline based music and theatre, as well as the visual arts.

SCEA has summer programs for teachers and administrators and are
involved in schools in several states in the southeast. Their programs
are in music, theatre, and the visual arts, and I believe they may be
expanding to include dance in the near future.
