It is a difficult question to answer when an artist becomes an artist. It is just a difficult to
ask when anybody becomes anything. When does a plumber becomes a plumber? a child becomes an adult?
or when does old age begin? A transformation of "becoming" is more than schooling, skills,
experience, or talent. I think it also involves a mindset, attitude, passion, and sense of being
which like describing the nature of good or bad is long on philosophy and short on objective quick
answers. Another provocative question is not when one becomes an artist, but more fundimentally,
"What is an artist?"
