A questionnaire for students at the beginning of the class is most useful for
getting a good picture of your students and their individual interests. Also,
a pre-instruction drawing or writing sample will give you some bench mark
from which to gauge their progress. Think of the classroom as sort of a
laboratory where you are measuring things you observe. This doesn't mean that
teaching has to be a cold scientific process. I believe that the more fun I
have teaching a class, the more my students will experience the joy of being
creative artists in their own right. Best of experiences, Teri Brudnak
