I did this project with my 3D high school class. They were very successful.
We used unusual yarns and assorted weaving techniques. e rolled out the clay
slabs about 3/8" thick to substantially support the weaving. We textured the
clay loom surface with stamps made from old discarded linoleum printing
blocks that we cut up into odd shapes. We stained the bisque loom with colored
acrylic washes and then sprayed them with Krylon Acrylic Ultra- Gloss spray. We
have also done these with fired glazes. Each one was unique because of the
texture and the weaving. The students loved them. Ours were large, over 15".
