I am in the process of preparing a presentation to our Board of Ed about the
value of art(s) in the future of our students and thus the world. I know it is
a trite and hackneyed idea but after 29 years of trying to convince people I
am STILL trying to get the point across. I have been re-inspired by Daniel
Pink's, A Whole New Mind, and any research I can find about creativity,
imagination and problem-solving as a societal need. I am looking for a powerful opening
"exercise"- an icebreaker- to gain their attention and create focus for my
presentation of ideas at the meeting. I am also proposing a new class to "teach"
creativity, imagination, inventiveness and expression. If you have any
suggestions for a powerful introduction I am eager to hear from you.
