thanks in advance for any help~creatively, Linda in Oregon
Hello Art Friends,
My name is Virginia ("Ginny") Lane. I am the NAEA Pacific Region Middle Level Director. I am currently working on a project to be presented at the March NAEA conference in Chicago. I need your help now more than ever in completing it.
An initiative by the Secondary and Middle Level Division leadership has resulted in the creation of a presentation illustrating the sequential development of art by students in grades 6-12 across the nation. This exciting presentation will be showcased in Chicago at the NAEA Conference. The focus of this yearís presentation is the human form, which can encompass images as simple as the hand to a portrait to a full figure.
My request is that you select 5+ examples of your student work in any media 2D or 3D demonstrating low to high proficiency with the human form. These will need to be in digital format so I can use them in developing the power point presentation.
To help with understanding the work, please include a Problem Statement with the pieces. Here is a suggested prompt for the Problem Statement:
Make, create, design, construct (choose one) a _____________________ with, through (choose one) _______________________ (process/material) that ________________ ____________________ (the problem to be solved).
Each piece will also need to include the artistís name, if possible, grade level, title, media, the name of art teacher and the school. First names only are okay if identity of student is a privacy concern.
A picture of the art teacher along with his/her name would be nice!
My goal is to have work included from every state in the Pacific Region 11 state unit! We rock! Let's share it!
Due to the timeline (The conference presentation in Chicago is March 22)
please email your digital images no later than February 25, 2006 to email@example.com
Please send no more than 5 images in a single e-mail. If you want to put them into a plain PowerPoint before sending, they will take up less room.
I have been know to gum-up our district's e-mail system with extra large e-mail receipts!
If you would like more information please send me an email or call me at my home. My phone number is 360-412-4770 ext 37125 work
360-791-5481 cell. If you know of other middle level art educators who would like to participate please forward this invitation to them.
Your help in this work is necessary and greatly appreciated.
