using plaster gauze

I have boxes of gauze at my 2 schools. I am trying to find different ways of
using it and came across this site. The artist is using it on a shrine box
of some sort but this would be so cool in altered books. (I am not doing them
yet but it is on my list of things to try). This technique can also be used
to cover Altoid tins. Altered tins would be so cool to do in class. They
don't take up too much space and kids love things that open.
Does anyone have other ideas for the plaster gauze besides masks?
I'd love to hear them!
