When I went from my country K-8 school to the town JR. High for 9th grade
(one year there, then to the H.S.) we had a counselor from the JR. High come to
help us with registration. I was so excited because I wanted to take an Art
class. I signed up for Industrial Arts....the first day of class (it was a
class that started second semester) I started my way toward the
building...going...going...going....got there...where the heck am I??? SHOP Class! hahahaha!
Of course me poor country girl had no idea I could change my schedule and
request art! But I made an ice scraper, a pen holder, I carved a rose inside an
acrylic block and made a couple of turtle banks from slip molds. hahahaha!
Very funny! I will say learning to use those belt sanders came in handy when I
was taking my 3-D design course in college!
