Elias van den Broeck - 'A Bouquet of Roses, Morning Glory and Hazelnuts on
a Ledg, with Grasshoppers, a stag Beetle and a Lizard' - that's all one title.
Daubenton's 'Miscellanea'
Dru Drury's 'Illustrations of Natural History'.
What about illustrators.
In 2003 Australia Post put out a series of stamps based on insects. Graham
Base - Animalia, The Eleventh Hour etc - also did a book on Bugs & Butterflies.
You could also try finding some work by Aboriginal artists which feature
insects e.g. Western Desert artists. The Aboriginals not only ate the
insects but depicted them in their art and used pigments created from insects.
