I'm brainstorming for ideas...
Each year, we have a gym show, where the kids perform an hour-long
demonstration of their skills in physical education. I usually have my students create
life-sized sports figures each year, however, my school is celebrating it's
50th anniversary this year and the teachers are doing a 1950's-today theme.
I was thinking of having the kids re-create vintage team logos or uniforms
through the years, but I think that the details will be too difficult for my
elementary students to reproduce. I was also thinking of possibly selecting
sports legends through the years and having them revamp their images LeRoy Neiman
style... but again, the detail is going to be a problem.
Any ideas for a possible project? When we make the figures, it is a group
project that takes 4 or 5 40 min class periods. The artwork must be large - it
is hung up above the bleachers in the gym.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas. :) Breanne, Long Island
