How about taking a camera out to the places in the community where people
spend time. Public parks, libraries, food banks, well-known shopping
districts, neighborhood restaurants, community events at recreation
centers, free meals and so on. With a variety of them the kids ought to
find something strikes their fancy for drawing or painting. You might be
able to scan the best of them, blow them up and print out extra copies on
your printer....
