ART NEW ENGLAND Summer Workshops 2003
at Bennington College Vermont

What is it about this intense experience
that makes it such a meaningful time in
the lives of those who attend?

You come to be immersed in art.
Just what is it that is so special about the Art New England Workshops?

For nearly twenty summers, Art New England Workshops have nourished the
artists who participate. Free from the demands and responsibilities of everyday
life, you have an opportunity to work without interruption from morning until
night, as you wish.

At the Workshops, you are surrounded by others who are as deeply involved in
art as you are. During classes, at lectures, slide presentations and
discussions, and over meals, you will find yourself in the midst of a community whose
passion equals yours, and who will urge you to stretch your limits; to take
risks.

The high caliber of artist-teachers, the idyllic setting, and the enthusiasm
of participants all contribute to a formula that assures an invigorating and
productive climate for artists.

Massachusetts College of Art’s Continuing Education Program invites you to
spend time with us this summer at the Art New England Workshops at Bennington
College, Bennington, VT. We’ve arranged for a remarkable faculty to provide an
exciting selection of workshops. Peruse the array, decide, and join us.

Established in 1873, Massachusetts College of Art was the first and remains
the only freestanding public college of art and design in the US. The college
is nationally known for offering broad access to a quality professional arts
education, accompanied by a strong general education in liberal arts. A major
cultural force in Boston, MassArt offers public programs of innovative
exhibitions, lectures, and events. There is also a robust Continuing Education offering
of graduate, undergraduate, non-credit, professional development, enrichment
and young people’s programming throughout the year.
