Thank you, thank you, Larry, and others. I've just had a hell of a week
after several where I thought things were going great - then got sick and all
fell apart. My high school kids (mostly freshmen) will be hit with this on
Monday - learning to study about art. I've been doing more art history because
we are sharing a room - actually it's his room - with a math/science teacher.
No art supplies (or little) and no space, and lots of other problems. The
kids are beginning to see it's okay to learn about artist history. One told me
there was reference the Picasso's blue period in some movie/cartoon/animation
film, and she wouldn't have known what they were talking about except we had
studied his blue period in class. But, it's very hard to do hands-on artwork
(painting, clay, etc.) when the morning has other classes in the room, and
they aren't very respectful of our artwork. Plus, the "real" art teacher has
the art studio and all the supplies. Then add a few problem children - and
things get crazy for us all. I was ready to quit on Friday, so appreciate the
lift! I'll go back tomorrow with renewed vigor thanks to this list. Genie
