Take a Q-tip...wet a line..wait a few moments for the water to soak in...and tear carefully. It works best on good paper, don't make the wet line too wide as you want to confine the edge.

Does anyone have any hints on creating a fake deckle edge on paper? I
love the raw edges of handmade paper, but when one or two sides have to
cut or torn to size it doesn't look good.
