There certainly aren't a huge number of jobs for the
artist/potter/sculptor in the field of ceramics but there are many
related fields that are complimented by knowledge and skill in ceramics
like:

Models for industrial design

Sculpture skills applicable for dentistry and other medical fields

Behavioral medicine-art therapy, physical therapy, child pschology,
occupational therapy


Industrial and space age technology might mix engineering and ceramics:
ie. electrial components, ceramic tiles for space shuttle etc.
