I've been reading the block schedule replies with much interest, since it is
being discussed at our middle school. I have no doubts from you high school
teachers that it works great there, but I really have concerns as far as middle
school students.
I was talking with a teacher tonight who has it at her middle school in the
area. She said the "academics" have the 90 min., but the related and fine arts
have the 45 min with an a/b schedule. With this schedule they are able to have
one art teacher for over 800 kids.- interesting!
We currently have about 750 and 2 art teachers , since all the kids take art for
all 3 years. It sure makes me think about possible staffing changes if we'd go
to block.
