Hi there!

I am here again! Some time ago (about May-July 2000) I contacted this awesome list. At that time I was looking for an teacher position in the States. But turns of destiny, you know, twisted my way and I found an excellent position here in my own country at Lincoln the International School of Buenos Aires. One of Artsednet list members read my letters and she was working at that time as Art Coordinator at school, and she offered me to give this a try. And I did it. Now and after a year and a half, and being absolutely happy and confortable with the school, my colleagues and my students, I decided that I have to leave all the same. First because it was our old desire, to experience the challenge of relocating in a different country and learning and sharing with another culture. But in a second place, and not for this reason less important, because my country (and I think that by now many of you may have heard about our critical situation), is pushing us to point that we won't be able to stand it much more. Although my school is very strong and a highly supported institution, things are becoming very difficult and distressing. My husband, as a Special Effects and Pyrotechnique specialist, had being unemployed for more than a year.
Now I am looking for this chance again!
I need to find a job. I have 20 years experience as an art teacher, and during all these years I hadn't have any working gap. I worked in schools depending from the British community, and taught my students for high standard exams, such as Cambridge International Examinations and the IB program. Right now I am the Middle School Art teacher and assistant to the ESL and SSL program at Lincoln.
I have a BA in Fine Arts and a Master degree in Painting, graduated with a GPA of 3.4 on a scale of 4.0.

I am aware of the teachers shortage in many of the States, and also of the need for bilingual teachers, at the extreme that an amrican girl, who is doing her student teaching at Lincoln, told me that she knows that in some Texas schools are requiering spanish speaker janitors to help in the classes where non-english speaker students abound.

I am sure that there is an opportunity for us somewhere there. And I also have faith that someone can have a hint somehow to help me.
I am determine to attend interviews or job fairs, and also to work very hard to get what we need. America IS the land of opportunities, and I know that there can be one for me too.
Thanks for reading such a long thing.

With love for all of you
Patricia
