2nd/3rd graders can make clay rattles (from 2 sealed pinch pots with dried
clay balls inside),

clay hamburger boxes (with lift-off lids and a well inside to store little
goodies),

pinchpot imaginary creatures with 2 pinch pots arranged as an open mouth (add
teeth, tongue, eyes, voila!)

simple coiled bowls/lids,
mummy figures in sarcophagi

-- are all some I have been successful with in these grades.
