    My understanding is that the Brooklyn Museum is funded by NYC monies and that
    his honor is responding politically to the powerful forces that he plays like
    a finely tuned instrument. Looks like the Museum wins this round with an
    increase in attendance and national acclaim. Sounds nothing like a First
    Amendment problem, no one should tell New Yorkers how to spend their money
    ... or whether or not they should fund a museum that falls short of their
    expectations. The mayor will walk this tightrope, gathering political capital
    and keeping one of his finer museums on the front page. Guiliani ranks right
    up there with the 'Little Flower', in my book, and they have run out of
    airports to name after him... as long as they keep having these great
    controversial shows in Brooklyn. Peter. ---
