Re: New York, New York

I'm reading some of the messages that people are sending regarding NYC and
I'm thinking how worried some of you may be feeling. I worked in NYC for
years and nothing happened to me. Enjoy yourself. When I come into the city
and wind up eating near the hotel or the theatres I feel like a duck out of
water. This is not the total picture of NYC. Years ago I lived at East 87th
and 1st and then on the westside at 77th Street. These are neighborhoods
where people live. My overall best advice is..........use common sense. Of
course all the advice people are giving you is good but just use common
sense. Also, I don't know if it was suggested but buy travellers checks or
get cash from an ATM machine. Most restaurants and stores take credit cards.
I'm taking off Thursday and Friday from school. My principal said OK.
