Same in my school. I have introduced hammers, saws and C-clamps in 2nd
grade. With close supervision, a whole class period instruction of safety
procedures and careful monitoring this age group LOVES working with tools. I
purchased smaller sized claw hammers and saws and they enjoy the process very
much. (I teach in a private school with only 16 students per class.)
