If you were searching the Web, you weren't getting spam; spam is e-mail
that comes to you. You must have hit a page that sounded legit in the
description, but was porn in disguise. Then you were "highjacked" to
other porn sites every time you tried to hit the Back button. This has
happened to me a couple of times, and it's pretty unnerving, even
without a student sitting there. You can't even type in a new URL; you
will continue to be directed to the site. The only way to get out is to
do as you did--just shut down. This can happen on commercial sites as
