I have had second graders use sea shells to enhance a printing project that I had them do.
    Class 1
    1. On 12x18 watercolor or white construction paper( we have a very cheap drawing paper at this time), I have the children do a wash using the tempra blocks in blues, greens and violet.
    2. The children design, cut out and incise a styrofoam fish to be printed the next week.
    Class 2
    1. The student prints their fish(2-3times) using acrylic paint, and foam brayers onto their prepared paper.
    2. The student glues the fish block to the print.
    3. As the children finish they spread glue onto the bottom of their paper and spread some sand onto it and using small sea shells, add the shells in a few places. This finishes the print very nicely and the children are thrilled.
