I did my undergraduate work at Eastern New Mexico University. There we
had required hours of observation. Although we were to basically watch a
class, quite often we had opportunities to teach a lesson or two. This
experience helped prospective teachers get a taste for education. We all
know that one cannot get a try feel for something until one does it. I
personally feel that prospective teachers need to get into the classroom and
not sit listening to education theory. Prospective need to see education
taking place. The biggest jump to make is moving from student side of the
desk to behind the teacher's desk.
