Bridging the Gap

    I'm a program manager for the Washington State Arts Commission and
    currently we are trying to set up a program to enhance the link between
    higher education and the K-12 system to help ensure the success of
    prospective teachers. This program is right now in a formative stage
    that is focusing on better communication between higher education and
    K-12 and networking opportunities for prospective teachers and first
    year teachers.

    I would like to hear your comments on any programs that you know of
    and/or have been a part of that helped you while you were transitioning
    from your training in higher education to the real world of K-12
    education.
