Gina - thanks for your honest reply. My stubborn K-5 artists won;t copy
things exactly (thank goodness) we studied the styles of the aborigines but
no one would
consider them the real thing. We used a video from Crizmac - there are two
in their catalog = one is 15 minutes long and not worth the money - the other
is about 45 minutes long and wonderful - gives history and culture. However
it does give lesson plans that follow the aboriginal paintings and drawings.
Did not know about the
objections from the indigineous people. We study, draw and paint our Native
American artists in art classes - some of us have the proud heritage of Native
Americans in our families so maybe we can feel comfortable creating from
Native American Heritage.? Did not mean to offend anyone. Theres that
saying about
Tell me --------- Show me --------- Let me create it and I;'ll
remember it for a life time. Not accurate I know - it's been a long day.
Thanks Roberta
