    I have mentioned this before...but it worked beautifully for me this year.
    I labeled lunch bags with specific individual needs and had parents at Open
    House select one or more...They were asked to put in one or more of the items
    requested and send it back. Items like Sharpies...(instead of one...I often
    got a dozen! ) Hairspray for pastels, sponges, plastic bags, needles,
    thread....etc. were overwhelming in support. THis year I am going to add
    Ink Jet Labels....etc for the art shows...etc. I calculated well over 300.00
    in supplies.
    I think you could hand them out at the middle of the year...for a Back to
    school evening or a concert...It was an easy and I felt there was not a
    finanical burden placed on their backs if it was too much.
