Janice and all-
Regarding student artwork on the web. I think you do need a permission
slip if you use the student's name.
In our school system we (art teachers) are not allowed to act as agents
selling any student artwork, virtual or actual reality.
Artfully yours,

Hello Betti and All,
I won't be selling any student artwork. What I want to do is show the
artwork the students made under my guidance as a student teacher. These are
Group Projects and the artwork is the property of the school. I paid for 80%
of the materials used. The students paid for none. Since we have 26 groups,
I doubled up on the images, so I will get to keep half and my co-op teacher
will keep the other half. The students know they will not get to keep them.
To be safe I can just put up the ones I will keep and put no names, just the
name of the school. Would that work? Or how about first names? I won't put
pictures of the students, just the art. I don't mind sending home a
permission slip, but I don't think I will get all of them returned. If 1 out
of a group doesn't return their slip that could ruin it for the whole group.
My other question is; I want to video tape them doing their presentation.
This way each class can get to see what the other classes are doing. I will
not sell it, just show it. Could I ask each group as they come up if it is
OK or do I need a permission for that too? Thanks.
Janice
