    Howdy,

As far as cheap "glossy" paper to mix on...yes the disposable pallettes on
a pad are quite expensive. I use wax paper by the roll (often you can get
a industrial size roll donated by a bakery or kitchen of some kind.) I put
the roll on the table and tape the end underneath a metal ruler/yardstick
and start tearing a bizillion sheets. You can have the kids do this too,
they really enjoy it. And it's free/cheap. Also, I use egg cartons to mix
paint in, parents and teachers keep a supply rolling in all year, as well
as one parent who works in a cafeteria and gets tons of those big two-dozen
size trays that are easily diced up on the paper cutter. But yes, thay
don't work well for saving paint. I have bought lids for some of the
plastic 8-10 well paint trays, and they work pretty well. ANd you can stack
them and put them away. Im waiting for square glue sticks. Someone said
they exist, but Ive onl.y found ones with square bottoms, that doesn't save
the tops! And I'd love to have magnetic swipes or homing devices for my
pencils that consistently dissappear. Ive tried everything. Also, a mini
dishwasher. The kids do an okay job, but wouldn't it be nice to just have
them "load" and press "wash" and not have to go through and check
    everything?
