Hey. I too am writing a research article on the effects of art in education
for my ed psy class, but my concentration is on early childhood art and how
it effects cognitive development. I have not found anything on the net other
than using my schools data base. I would try to get on the data base
infopsy or eric to find your journal articles. It has been my experience that
their isn't much research out there and what is out their is not always good.
But a good place to look for research articles and regular articles is the
journal Visual Arts Research. Also, some key last names in the field are:
Lowenfld, Kellogg, Golomb, Matthews. Also a two great books to start with
are Children and their Art by Hurwitz and Creative and Mental Growth by
Lowenfeld. Major psychologist to look at are Vygotsky and Piaget.
    Good luck- Erika
