After reading this post, I could not help but smile a little. I guess I
felt reassured that I was not alone. I read somewhere on this list about a
school district which turned itself around due to a three-part effort - the
school district, the community and the police. Teachers are left to raise
children - in many instances. In my advisory class, I am teaching my
students how to be appropiate human beings. Amazing. Things my parents
taught me, I am being paid to teach other people's children. Simply
mind-boggling.
