Woody, There is never "nuff said" on that subject 'till discrimination
is a relic of the past. (This thought from a gray hair who slept with
a 22 under her bed in the mid 50's because she dared to bring a Negro
boy to church.) I wonder as I read your strong statement about
saying/doing nothing about evil could this be justification for
taking action against homosexuality if someone perceives that to be
the evil? I believe and teach that the doing and the saying must have
very strict guidelines.
A person doesn't have to have a very large difference to bring down
the destructive discrimination from the group. We have all seen it.
"Be exactly like us. Reflect us or get away from us, or we will peck
you to death!" Once had a 6th gr. student who was pecked with no
mercy. After long discovery process the peckers revealed it was
because he wore K-Mart shoes.
Woody, I have wanted to tell you that I get a chuckle when I read your
Kansas/monkeys signature.("I'm from Kansas, where evolution is
outlawed and the monkeys are in charge of the schools")

<Let me add, You will never convince me that Homosexuality is moral,
Stacy, I did not read in any previous post that anyone said
homosexuality
is moral or immoral. (Sorry, I didn't get this posted in time...No
longer true!)
I read that homosexuals are human beings whose rights are being
discussed along with our obligation as teachers to protect them from
abuse. Our job is to hold a mirror up to life and open the dialog as
we
have done here. That is what artists do. It is so much more than
manipulating materials and discussing the use of materials, style and
form. You have to decide what dialog is appropriate for your
classroom
and your children. If the students are calling one a fag then the
dialog is
open. Where will you lead them?
