I teach elem 1-4. Here are some of my ways of structure. My tables are
labeled by signs hanging over them of a color. Example: Red Table,
Orange, etc. In the center of each table is a water proof sign(11/2" x
2")that assigns each seat a number- 1,2,3,4. These colors and numbers come
in handy when I am passing out supplies. I can call a table color or as the
number 1's at each table to do a certain job for their table. For cleanup I
do a clean-up count down. I start at 5 and by the time I get to 1, everyone
should be cleaned up and ready to line up. I always hold up my hand and
count down with my fingers as a visual. Sometimes I say the numbers but not
always as this can be a noisy time. We line up by table colors. The quietest
table goes first. #1 from each table will call the next table. Next class we
progress to #2 and so on. I keep track of this by writing down who does
what. The kids love this. Works for me! mjart
