Sounds as if there will be quite a few of us in London this summer. Nancy Walkup and I are taking a group of 19 art teachers who will be completing a course of study abroad. We will be working with the art supervisor from the London school district and museum educators at several museums there.
We have found in our own travels abroad that public transportation is quick, inexpensive, and safe. The London city pass provides any number of days bus and underground fares. Our group will be using the pass rather than taxis. You might wish to consider this as an option rather than taxis.

I too will be going to London this June. I appreciated your information.
I wonder how expensive taxis are? We want to go to the west end theater
district and we think we are staying at the London Elizabeth hotel.
