I stayed at a B&B for a week in Scotland and loved it! I'm a "people" person and enjoyed talking with other guests. However, the proprietor asked that we not pay until checking out at which time we realized that our bill was much more than our travel agent had quoted. In the future we will ask for confirmation in writing before our trip. Also, be advised that "bath" may mean that you have a sink in the room (the tub and toilet are down the hall to be shared by all). As for London, we found it more affordable to stay in a "flat" for two weeks mainly because we could prepare many of our meals and splurge on others while dining out. Having a washer and dryer was great, also! We stayed in a nice hotel in Liverpool, but much prefer the B&B or the "flat". By the way, only speaking English, I thought I'd be safe communicating in Great Britain....wrong! Much to my surprise I couldn't understand some of them and they couldn't understand me.
