A slab roller, (a good one) has two rollers; one on top of the clay, the
other below. The rollers can be adjusted to thinly squeeze the clay or to
make thick(er) sheets of clay. The rollers move the clay THROUGH the
rollers. A print press moves the BED through the rollers. If I remember
this right. I think they could be adapted. You might lose some of the
qualities of a slab roller but I'd definitely try it before I got rid of it.
One problem is that you might have to pre-roll the clay down to an even size
to fit it through the bed.
