Re: sketchbooks and murals (HS)

Murals...we do ours on 4x8' plywood and they work on them in the halls
outside of the art classroom...then the maintenance department builds a
frame around them on the wall, then covers it with plexiglass. The ones in
our school are copies of art work by different artists. They are
huge...many are 2 pieces of plywood put together. These look great around
our school. I'm getting ready to start replacing some of these with
different ones.

Judie, I agree that some don't put a lot of effort in these when they are
done outside of class...a lot of times I have found that they were quickly
done before class to have something to turn in...but it's important for them
to do these. This semester, I plan to have them draw in their sketchbooks
the first 5 minutes or so of class and if they finish lessons early...or if
they just need a break from what they're working on.
