Floaters Web Gallery, which began as a web gallery for street people but
has
evolved into 1) a sliding scale gallery scheduled for January that will
make no distinction in labels between homeless and other artists 2) a
web
development company, also beginning in January, staffed by those who
would
not otherwise have had access to technology, 3) a one-on-one mentoring
program that lends computers to people who are homeless, formerly
homeless, or who otherwise would not have access...this has been quite
successful, and 4) the production of small CD's to show off our art and
writings. The first one is on its way and is called Solutions. Floaters
is
run as action research in which the participants are co-researchers.
Floaters is sponsored by the Arizona State Public Information Network,
ASPIN, under Dr. Sam DiGangi, which provides server space etc. Floaters

is located at http://floaters.org and indeed this virtual home is its
only
home due to the people it serves.
