What grades do you teach?
When you teach Pre-Primary Kindergarten and First your not going to injure
the artistic process by letting the little buggers trace every once in
awhile. They need to see success and they feel terrific if their project
occasionally turns out like the teachers.
I rarely use them, but for Christmas projects, or geometric shapes( like a
circle!)
tracing works well.
I keep a bucket of plastic lids and cardboard shapes for them to use.
Anyhow -there's a lot more of decisions made in a project than it's basic
form.
A good teacher will give them ample practice AND a a chance to "WOW" everybody
with an occasional "copy". What artist doesn't begin with copying??
