Touch is an additional sense which conveys information different from sight.
We cannot touch color, nor is it operational at a distance.

On the contrary, we can continue to communicate, lacking hearing and speech,
through hand signals and other body language.

Not to diminish the importance of touch - especially on the interpersonal
